When Mothership decided that the colony was self-sufficient, and began taking on passengers to populate the next colony, you signed up and got aboard. Now you have awakened from cryosleep, countless lightyears and centuries from the place of your birth. The new colony needs skilled people, to build a civilization from scratch and maintain it for future generations of humanity.
