There are ways to learn to switch gears, and be less analytical. It makes life a lot more fun. For instance, analyzing sex while you're having it is not a lot of fun. Letting yourself go to fully experience it is a lot better.
It would take some work, but you could enjoy trance if you allowed yourself to do so.
Hypnotist's assistant is probably not your best career choice.
